Solar thermal is the use of solar energy to produce thermal energy; i.e., heat. Industry in general uses a lot of heat for various processes. The food and beverage industry uses heat for many processes. Some mining processes use heat to extract the minerals from the ore. If your process plant has a boiler that produces heat, you can produce the same amount of heat with a solar heating plant.
